The new social visit pass will be issued within 2 weeks before the visa’s expiry date. Patients from selected nationality are provided with “eVISA” services. eVISA is an online application platform that enables foreign nationals to apply for an electronic visa to enter Malaysia at the comfort of their convenience.

ENT (Ear, Nose, Throat), Heart & Neck Surgery

ENT (Ear, Nose, Throat), Head & Neck Surgery, also known as Otorhinolaryngology, is a surgical operation related to the condition of the ear, nose and throat (ENT) and the related head and neck structure. Doctors with expertise in this area are named otorhinolaryngologists, otolaryngologists, ENT doctors, ENT surgeons, or head and neck surgeons. Patients seek treatment from otorinolaryngologists for ear, nose, throat, skull. In addition, patients also get treatment for cancer surgery and benign tumors of the head and neck.

Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory

Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory or Cath Lab is an examination room in a hospital with diagnostic imaging equipment used to visualize the arteries and the chambers of the heart, and to treat any stenosis or abnormality found.

CCU / ICU

Intensive Care Unit (ICU), or sometimes known as Intensive Therapy Unit or Intensive Treatment Unit (ITU), or Critical Care Unit (CCU), is a unique department that provides intensive treatment medicine and comprehensive care for critically ill patients.

The ICUs mainly serve patients with severe and life-threatening illnesses or injuries. Such patients are usually required to be monitored continuously by a team of committed specialists and medical staff. The patients also need constant support from specialized equipment and medication to stabilize their body function.

The ICUs tend to have a higher ratio of staff to patient as well as the access to advanced medical resources and equipment which are not commonly available elsewhere. Meanwhile, common conditions treated in the ICUs include Acute or Adult Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS), Multiple Organ Failure (MOF), sepsis and trauma.

The patients may be shifted to an ICU from Accident and Emergency (A&E) Department if required or, from Operation Theatre (OT) immediately after a surgery if the surgery is invasive which may cause the patient to have high risk of complications or, from a normal ward if they rapidly deteriorate.

Day Procedure Unit

Day Procedure Unit is dedicated to providing day diagnostic procedures and minor surgical procedures to the patients. Most of these procedures will be performed on an outpatient basis, so do not trigger the need for hospitalization.

Dietetic & Food Services

Dietetic and Food Service Department is mainly responsible for providing high quality and nutritious meals to all patients especially those with diet-related diseases.

The Dietetic and Food Services Department strives to:

Maintain and optimize nutritional status of all patients
Educate patients about the importance of diet and nutrition in the treatment of various diseases
Correct deficiencies in patients especially those with a prolonged hospital stay
Ongoing health care education through counselling, seminars, and workshops.

Haemodialysis Centre

Haemodialysis is a way to remove the blood of toxins as well as the excessive salt and fluids through a dialysis machine. It helps to regulate the body chemistry balance such as potassium, sodium, and chloride and therefore keep blood pressure under control.

Patients need to ensure that their blood is circulating and not clotting while on treatment. It is important to keep the catheter dry, even when taking a bath.

Health Screening Centre

The Health Screening Centre is an one-stop centre that offers comprehensive medical examinations for visitors which to promote early detection and manage potential health risks of common chronic illnesses such as diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, and dyslipidemia. We have tailored a series of ‘Putra Wellness Packages’ which range from the basic to comprehensive to meet both corporate and individual needs.

Labour & Delivery Facilities

The delivery suite consists of six delivery rooms. Up-to-date equipment is available to monitor the mother and baby. Individualized care is provided by experienced staff who also aid in all deliveries. Epidural analgesia is also available upon request by the patient and as advised by the anaesthetist. We offer post-operation recovery room with 24-hour nursing attendance and a VIP Jasmine Suite which boasts cert fixtures and state-of-the-art facilities. The ward also incorporates a Breastfeeding room for the convenience of nursing mother who is either inpatient or outpatient.

Radiology

CT Scan

Putra Specialist Hospital Melaka offers a full-service of CT Scan from routine to Interventional radiology to look at the bone or tissue disorder. We also offer calcium scoring test, a procedure to determine if the coronary arteries are blocked or narrowed by the build-up of plaque – an indicator of atherosclerosis or coronary artery disease (CAD). The information obtained can help evaluate if you are at increased risk for heart attack. These highly-specialized imaging tool has a 64-slice scanner to create cross-sectional images of bones, soft tissues, blood vessels and organs. The scan allows doctors to see the inner structure and more detailed images of the body.

Digital Mammography

Mammography remains the gold standard for screening of early stage breast cancer. Putra Specialist Hospital Melaka is the only centre in Melaka which offers Micro-Dose Digital Mammography. Micro-Dose Mammography provides less stressful mammography experience because it can give warm, curved patient support. It is also easy positioning and therefore allows faster imaging time.

Fluoroscopy

Fluoroscopy, like most other imaging tests, can be used to see what’s going on within our bodies. The images that the procedure provides can be helpful in diagnosing abnormalities or in treating these abnormalities. Fluoroscopy exams can provide detailed “moving’ images of entire body systems, including the skeletal, digestive, urinary, respiratory, and reproductive systems, or it can look at specific body organs, such as the heart, lungs, or kidneys. The moving images allow to see if there is a blood clot in the veins or arteries, if the bones are healthy, or if the digestive tract is working properly. One common fluoroscopy exam involves a barium (or contrast) swallow, which passes through the GI tract and allows to see the GI movements in even greater detail.

MRI
