PAH was established in 1924 by DR J. Earl Gardner

The Penang Adventist Hospital (PAH) is part of an International Adventist Network of some 600 not-for-profit hospitals, clinics and dispensaries worldwide. From its humble beginnings, PAH has continuously grown to become a tertiary healthcare centre for the Malaysian community and International visitors.

PAH was the first private hospital in Malaysia to achieve Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation. It has also been awarded the Malaysian Society for Quality in Health (MSQH) accreditation and achieved the Baby Friendly Hospital

Initiative (BFHI) status. PAH was also the first hospital in Malaysia to become a member of the Health Promoting Hospital Network (HPH).

In 2015, the hospital collaborated with National Cancer Centre Singapore (NCCS) to set up the Adventist Oncology Centre (AOC), a three-storey building comprehensively dedicated to cancer services. In 2018, the Heart Centre was relocated to a space that more than double the size of its previous location to meet the increasing demand of the local and international patients.

Today, Penang Adventist Hospital has grown to become a tertiary healthcare institution equipped with 254 beds inclusive of 10 intensive care unit (ICU) beds, 9 high dependency unit (HDU) beds, and 10 neonatal ICU (NICU) beds, a one-stop clinical laboratory, a bakery producing delicious yet healthy products, and chaplaincy service to meet the spiritual and emotional needs of patients.

Remaining true to its root as a non-for-profit hospital, Penang Adventist Hospital continues to carry out the charitable work of Dr Gardner. Under the umbrella of the hospital, exists a medical social service and several funds to assist the needy and sick. International Patient Services

Penang Adventist Hospital have been serving international patients for decades. You will see patients from all walks of life an from different nationalities receiving treatment in the hospital or visiting the hospital for medical check-up or vaccination.

Most of our doctors and nurses speaks at least two languages. Commonly spoken languages among doctors and staff include English, Mandarin, Malay, Cantonese, Hokkien, Tamil, etc.

We provide complimentary services to accommodate the needs and requirement of the international patients including:

· In-house Interpreter – Japanese, Indonesian.

· Interpreter upon request – Vietnamese, Arabic, and others.

· Complimentary Airport Transfer*

· Hotel Booking (Enjoy special rate via PAH)

· Customer Relation Ambassadors

Prior booking is required for airport transfer.

Please arrive at least 2 hours before scheduled time unless instructed otherwise by Doctor. Proceed to the admission counter at hospital main lobby.

Please bring with you the following documents to facilitate proper and expedient admission:

· Patient’s Identity Card / Passport / Birth Certificate

· Guarantor’s Identity Card / Passport

· Your doctor’s referral letter and guarantee letter (GL) / employee ID card / those with insurance might need to pay deposit if yet to receive GL upon admission

· Appointment Card

Please be punctual for the admission appointment. The appointment time is arranged so that ample time is given for proper preparation to facilitate better care.

Patient is required to pay deposit upon admission to the hospital. The deposit amount is subject to the type of surgery or procedure as stipulated by the Hospital.

· Deposit can be made in cash, bank draft or credit card.

· We only accept letter of guarantee from corporations that have prior credit arrangement with our hospital.

· Patient is required to pay deposit if their guarantee letter has a limit and is not sufficient to cover their procedure cost.

· Deposit can be made in cash, bank draft or credit card.

· Deposit can be made in cash, bank draft or credit card.

· We only accept letter of guarantee from corporations that have prior credit arrangement with our hospital.

· Patient is required to pay deposit if their guarantee letter has a limit and is not sufficient to cover their procedure cost.

· The Hospital can only confirm the availability of the room type at the time of your admission.

· Patient may request for the room upgrade at any times during patient’s stay in the Hospital, and to pay the additional charges on self-pay cases.

· However, if the patient is admitted under the Company’s Guarantee Letter, Patient /Guarantor shall be responsible to settle the difference between the upgraded room rate and the guaranteed rate and any Co-payment as and when requested by the Hospital.

A&E Registration – A deposit of RM 1,000 ( @Estimate AUD 330 ) is required for International Patients

Discharge hours are between 11.00am and 2.00pm from Sunday to Friday. If you do not vacate your room by 2.00pm, you will be charged an additional full day’s rate.

Full payment to be settled upon discharged after office hours, Saturdays or Public Holidays. Interim bill will be available upon request. Final bill will only be available on the next working day at counter 9 or 10 after 10am.

Penang Adventist Hospital is a member of the Health Promoting Hospital Network (HPH) – the very first hospital in Malaysia, since January 2013. Initiated by World Health Organization, the mission of HPH network is to improve the quality of health care of both hospital patients and staff through evidence-based health promotion services. As an accredited HPH hospital, PAH strives to achieve better health gain for our patients and staff with an integrated and comprehensive health promotion services.
